Why did my collection post use a product photo?
In Quick Post, Blogger uses an image from a product in the selected collection, never the collection cover, at no extra credit cost.

That is by design. In Quick Post with Feature Collections, Blogger takes the featured image from the first product in the collection that has an image. It does not use the collection's cover image.
This image is free. Prefer another picture? Change the featured image in Shopify admin after publishing.
