This Privacy Policy explains how Yassine Malti ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you install or use Blogger, a Shopify app that researches, writes, and publishes blog posts for your store, and when you use this website.
By installing or using Blogger, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, uninstall the app and stop using this website. The Terms of Service explain the rules for using Blogger.
Who we are
Blogger is operated by Yassine Malti, an independent Shopify app developer based in Ottawa, Canada. Shopify provides the store platform. Blogger is a separate app and is not owned by Shopify.
Information we collect
Account and store details from Shopify
When you install Blogger, Shopify shares the details the app needs to run:
- Your store domain and store name
- The store owner's name and email address
- An access token for the store data described below
- The billing status of your Blogger plan, as reported by Shopify
Store content the app processes
To draft and publish posts, Blogger reads the content you choose and, when you publish, writes to your blog:
- Product and collection titles, descriptions, and links, so articles can point to your catalog
- Blog posts and pages, so new articles can be created on the blog you select
- Files and images used for a featured image
- Settings you choose, such as language, tone, length, topic source, schedule, and custom prompts
Blogger does not request access to your customers' profiles or order history.
Optional Google Search Console and Moz
If you connect Search Console, Google lets Blogger read search performance for the property you select, including queries, clicks, and impressions. We store that connection. The permission is read-only, and Blogger does not change your Search Console settings. If you enable Moz domain data, we store the metrics shown in your store report. You can disconnect either connection in the app.
Messages and this website
- Emails and other messages you send to support
- The email address you submit to the newsletter on this website
- Basic technical logs, such as browser type and the pages requested, used to keep the site working
How we use information
- Provide Blogger, including topic ideas, drafts, images, and publishing to your Shopify blog
- Show credits, plan usage, and billing status
- Send service messages you asked for, such as support replies
- Protect the app, look into abuse, and meet legal duties
- Improve Blogger using aggregated use of the product. We do not sell your information.
AI models and other services
When you generate a post or an image, Blogger sends the relevant product or collection text, your prompt, and your settings to the provider that does that work. Depending on the feature, that can include OpenAI, Google, Unsplash, or Pixabay. They process that material to return text or an image. We do not let them use your store content to advertise to your customers.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Shopify, which hosts your store, bills the app, and supplies the data the app is allowed to use
- Companies that host Blogger and store its database
- Email delivery for notifications and the website newsletter
- The AI and image providers above, only to complete the task you start
- Google, if you connect Search Console, and Moz, if you turn on domain metrics
- Authorities when the law requires it, or when we must protect users' rights and safety
How long we keep information
We keep store data and access tokens while Blogger is installed, and for a short time after, so we can finish work already started, answer billing questions, and meet legal requirements. When you uninstall the app, Shopify tells us, and we delete or anonymize shop data we no longer need, including Search Console tokens. Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe. Support messages stay long enough to handle the request.
Security
We protect stored information with access controls and encryption in transit. No online service is perfectly secure. Keep your Shopify staff accounts protected.
International transfers
We are based in Canada. Information may be processed in Canada and in other countries where our hosting, email, and AI providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. We take steps that fit the service to protect information when it moves.
Your choices and rights
- Uninstall Blogger in the Shopify admin to stop further access to your store
- Disconnect Search Console in the app
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in those emails
- Ask us for a copy, a correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you
- If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or a similar region, you may also object to certain processing and complain to your local authority
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
Blogger is a business tool for Shopify merchants. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Blogger after an update, the revised policy applies.
